A term used to describe something that will most likely be cut, routed, sliced or damaged during a woodworking operation. You might put a sacrificial fence made of scrap wood on a miter saw. This way you can cut through it and create a zero clearance fence system. A sacrificial fence on the tablesaw can be used to bury part of the blade into the fence, as pictured below.
